The name Camerata was taken from Florentine Camerata, a group of artists, musicians, intellectuals in Renaissance Florence, Italy. The term Camerata literally means “room” or “chamber” where gatherings were held. Owner Paul Petronella was inspired by this term because of his Italian heritage and desire to create an unpretentious meeting. This space is for guests to come enjoy intentionally selected beverages and thoughtful bar food. Camerata also strives to be a place of learning, our staff is here to discuss the wine selections and help introduce you to something new or maybe guide you to an unfamiliar classic.
Our wine program is extremely unique in that we change our by-the-glass menu daily. We serve all of our wines by the glass with the option of a Full 6oz glass or a 3oz Half glass.
Additionally, we have a fourteen page bottle list that highlights more obscure grapes and wine regions from smaller producers and family owned properties around the world. There are also plenty of more traditional wines from producers with history and reputation.
Our food menu consists of several thoughtful and chef-created bar food options as well as a rotating selection of artisanal cheeses and charcuterie options. If you are looking for a full meal, grab a glass or bottle with us and head to next door with your wine for dinner at Paulie’s. You are welcome to join us after dinner for a glass as well!

Camerata has been the home to many Houston Sommeliers over the past decade. We are very proud to have provided a stepping stone for many wine professionals in the Houston community and many who have gone on to run wine-programs nation-wide.
We strive to embrace knowledge and share it in a fun and friendly way with our guests.
